Saint Vincent is a volcanic island located in the Caribbean sea between Saint Lucia and Grenada. It is partially submerged volcanic mountains.
Saint Vincent territory was disputed between France and the United Kingdom in the 18th century, before being hand over to the British in 1783. The island gained independence on October 27, 1979. Approximately 120,000 people live on the Saint Vincent island. Kingstown is the biggest and main town population 19,479. The rest of the population resides in the Layou, Barrouallie, Chateaubelair, Georgetown, and Calliaqua.
